Dr David Atherton

Primary qualifications: BSc (Hons), BM, RCGP, SSMVas
Dr Atherton qualified from Southampton University in 2009. Following this he gained experience in Accident & Emergency and Burns & Plastic Surgery before perusing a career in General Practice and completing his training in 2014. He has been a partner at Hanham Health since July 2019 and worked as a salaried GP for the organisation prior to this.
He is the clinical lead for minor surgery and performs regular minor surgical lists at Hanham and Almondsbury Surgery. He also has an interest in non-invasive vasectomy and together with one of the other partners leads the Hanham Vasectomy Service (HVS) providing vasectomy services for patients across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area.
Whilst he works across all three GP sites he is predominantly based at Almondsbury Surgey. He lives in Bristol and his interests outside of medicine include long distance running and squash which he plays at club level.
