Primary qualifications: BM BS 2015 The University of Brighton and the University of Sussex
Dr Jacob Howells started in Hanham surgery in 2021 and currently works as a salaried GP in Hanham and Oldland surgeries.
He qualified from Brighton and Sussex medical school with a bachelor in medicine and surgery in 2015, having trained in Liverpool. This included 10 months of geriatric medicine and 18 months of A&E.
Dr Howells has an interest in elderly care and is the clinical lead for frailty. This involves helping people to maintain their independence at home but also spending more time with care home residents locally. He has an interest in helping to manage dementia and long-term conditions that effect elderly people (eg heart failure, cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease).
